Should I Add Badges To My Courses?
Absolutely! A certification badge is a digital credential that verifies that a learner has met certain standards of knowledge or skill in a particular area, and can be displayed on social media profiles, resumes, and websites.
How Do I Add a Badge?
- Go to the Course Manager.
- Select your course.
- Click the Badges tile.
- Click the Add a Badge tile.
- Enter the following information:
- Badge Image: Upload an image for the badge.
- Badge Title: Enter the name of the badge.
- Associated Units: Select the units or weeks that the badge is associated with.
- Click Save to create the badge.
Can I Edit An Existing Badge?
- Go to the Course Manager.
- Select your course.
- Click the Badges tile.
- Click the tile of the badge you want to edit.
- Make the desired changes to the badge.
- To replace the badge image, click the x button on the current image file, then click the Add Badge Image button to upload a new image.
- To edit the badge title, type a new name into the title field.
- To edit the associated units or weeks, select or unselect the units or weeks that the badge is associated with.
- Click Save to save your changes.

How do Learners earn badges?
Learners earn badges by completing qualifying assessments and engagement actions within the units or weeks that the Course Manager associated with the badge. To earn a badge, learners must achieve a final score of 80% or higher.
Can instructors see the badges that their learners earned?
Yes, instructors can view each learner's badge progress by following these steps:
- Go to the Course Home.
- Click the arrow to the right of the Analytics bar.
- Click the Grade Table icon.
- Click the name of the learner whose badge progress you want to view.
- On the right side of the page, you will see each badge outlined with a progress bar showing the learner's progress on that badge.
- Hover over the badge to see what percentage of the badge the learner has completed.
