Embedding Video Content in your Course

The Learning Community Environment allows for embedded video content to be displayed within a course. This documentation will go through the steps necessary for this feature to operate. 

Requirements

  • iFrame code (Example: Youtube video embed code)
  • Instructor credentials with course manager access to add embedded content.
  • Course created and instructor enrolled in the course for which embedded content is being created.

Acquire Embed Code

For this documentation, we will be using Youtube as our embedded code source.

  1. Navigate to YouTube and find the video you want to embed.
  2. Click the Share button below the video.
  3. Click Embed.
  4. Copy the embed code in the iFrame field.

Embed content in the course.

  1. Log in to the Learning Community Environment as an Manager.
  2. Go to the Courses tab and click Course Manager.
  3. Choose the course you want to embed content in.
  4. Click Create Content.
  5. Select Embedded Content from the dropdown, and fill in content details.
  6. Click Source.
  7. Paste the embed code you copied from Youtube.
  8. Click Source again.
  9. Click Submit.

Add the embedded content to the course.

  1. The embedded content will appear in the Unassigned Content section.
  2. Drag and drop the content tile to the week where you want it to appear.
  3. Click Preview Changes.
  4. Click Publish Changes.

Your embedded video content is now available to learners in the course.
