Assessment Types

What are the Different Assessment Types?

Standard Assessments
  • Assignment | Homework | Project: These are untimed, graded assessments that can include multiple-choice, short-answer, fill-in-the-blank, and file upload questions. Learners can save their responses as often as possible up to the due date. The instructor can provide feedback on the submissions.
  • Exam | Quiz: These assessments are timed and graded. Learners must complete the assessment in a single attempt. Exam/Quiz assessments that include only multiple-choice questions are auto-graded. The instructor grades the assessments that contain short answer, fill-in-the-blank, and/or file upload questions.
  • Engagement: Learners earn credit by creating a course feed post and associating it with the Engagement assessment.
  • Extra Credit: These assessments are untimed and graded. Learners can save their responses as often as possible up to the due date. The instructor can provide feedback on the submissions.
  • Practice: These assessments are untimed and ungraded. Learners can view their selections alongside the correct answers after completing the assessment.
Custom Assessments
  • Dynamic Lecture: These assessments are untimed and graded. Learners may exit the dynamic lecture as needed, and their progress will be saved. Dynamic lectures are automatically graded. Once completed, the learner cannot re-access the content.
  • Group Whiteboard Activity: Learners collaborate in a shared whiteboard space. Groups' contributions automatically save as they add content to the whiteboard. The instructor can provide feedback on the submissions.
